Certifications

ROHS. Restriction of Hazardous Substances (2002/95/EC) is an article 95 directive, meaning it is across all European Union member states. Since July 1st 2006 the use of hazardous substances is restricted in products, to prevent environmental
harm. The prohibited substances are Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium, Polybrominated Biphenyls and Polybrominated
Diphenyl Ethers.

CE. The CE mark is a basic document for the compliance review within EU. The CE mark placed on the product symbolizes the fact that the person, who is responsible for this attached mark, checked that the product is compliant with all the provisions of the European Union.

ATEX. The ATEX certification is established by the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU which establishes the requirements of electrical products that can be installed in areas at risk of explosion ignition.

Safety Class

Class I. Luminaires in this class are electically insulated and provided with a connection to earth. Earthing protects exposed etal parts that could become live in the event of luminaires failure.

Class II. Luminaires in this class are designed and constructed so that protection against electric shock does not rely on basic insulation only. This can be achieve by means of reinforces or double
insulation. No provision for earthing is required.

Light Sources

LED SMD. An SMD LED module is a type of LED module that uses surface mount technology (SMT) to mount LED chips on printed circuit boards (PCBs). It is a stand-alone surface mounted LED
device designed to operate alone or to connect a compatible unit.

LED COB. The COB (Chip On Board) LEDs are multiple LED chips soldered directly onto a substrate to form a single module. The main difference between COB and SMD technology is that while SMDs require a circuit for each diode on the chip, the COB devices have only 1 circuit and 2 contacts for the entire chip, regardless of the number of diodes, leading to a remarkable simplicity of the circuit.

Lifetime

Lifetime (L70) in hours: defined as the time until the light output of a LED device has decreased to 70% of the initial output. It also refers to lumen depreciation which is the decrease in lumen output that occurs as a LED device is operated.

Supply voltage

Supply frequency

Energy Efficiency Index

Energy class. The energy classes according to EU Directive 1194/2012 categorize energy efficiency and eco-design requirements for directional and non-directional LED lamps.

Warranty

Warranty period offered per product

Operating Temperature Range

Operating temperature. Indicates the temperature range of the surrounding environment within which the device guarantees its best performance.

Photobiological Risk Group

Group 0. Luminaire comply with photobiological safety norm EN 62471. Suitable for persons with high sensitivity on UV radiations and blue spectrum part.

Step MacAdam

Mac Adam. It is an elliptical region on the CIE chromaticity diagram that contains all the colors that are indistinguishable to the average human eye, from the color at the center of the ellipse.
Adjacent ellipses are “just distinguishable” in terms of color. This system is used to refine the binning process of LED colors. Slight color differences in the appearance of LEDlight are measured in MacAdam ellipses or steps.

Impact Rating

IK. Code for protection level provided with covers of electric appliances against the exterior mechanical impact (IK code).

Dust and Water Protection Rating

Ingress Protection. The IP rating indicates the level of protection against intrusion and water. The first digit refers to the protection from solid objects whereas the second digit indicates the protection from liquids. Generally the higher the value, the
more protected a LED device is against either intrusion or water – starting with “0” for no protection at all.

Aiming

Aiming on horizontal axis. Characteristic of directional spotlights that can rotate on a cone placed in the lower part allowing a better orientation of the light.

Aiming on vertical axis. Characteristic of directional spotlights that can rotate on a cone placed in the lower part allowing a better orientation of the light.
